As a part of II B.Tech I semester curriculum, this laboratory has been setup to conduct practical work for simulation of experiments using MATLAB (version 8.3 and 9.3) software. This lab is available to perform Basic Operations on Matrices, Generation of signals, Convolution, Auto correlation and Cross correlation between signals and sequences, Finding Fourier Transform for a given signal, Gibbs Phenomenon, Removal of noise by Auto/Cross correlation, verification of Weiner-Khinchine Relations, Generation of Gaussian function etc. This lab provides all the basic requirements and imparts for the necessary practical training to the students.
MATLAB, which stands for MATrix LABoratory, is a state-of-the-art mathematical software package, which is used extensively in both academia and industry. It is an interactive program for numerical computation and data visualization, which along with its programming capabilities provides a very useful tool for almost all areas of science and engineering. Unlike other mathematical packages, such as MAPLE or MATHEMATICA, MATLAB cannot perform symbolic manipulations without the use of additional Toolboxes .It remains however, one of the leading software packages for numerical computation. As you might guess from its name, MATLAB deals mainly with matrices. A scalar is a 1-by-1 matrix and a row vector of length say 5, is a 1-by-5 matrix. One of the many advantages of MATLAB is the natural notation used. It looks a lot like the notation that you encounter in a linear algebra. This makes the use of the program especially easy and it is what makes MATLAB a natural choice for numerical computations. The purpose of this experiment is to familiarize MATLAB, by introducing the basic features and commands of the program. The lab includes MATLAB software’s with toolbox and major equipment.

While making the electrical connections and handling with high power equipments, Electrical safety measures have been provided. Instruments which are used are provided with proper insulation and with guidance.
- Laboratory displayed with Experiment list, LEAD experiment: Lab consists of charts which give information regarding experiments for the academic year going to be performed by the students and additional experiment conducted through Learn Emerging Advances in Domain (LEAD).
- Laboratory displayed with Major equipment details: In this laboratory mainly we used software MATLAB R2016b required to perform experiments and lab consists of charts of major equipments which give information regarding working principle of these components.
- Fire extinguisher, Safety guidelines chart is displayed in the lab: lab consists of fire extinguisher and lab consists of a chart which gives information regarding safety precautions need to be followed by the students when they are performing experiments.
- Laboratory is well furnished: In this laboratory students will work individually. However, the lab reports will be written individually. Proper stools, benches, and rack for keeping bags and maintained in good manner. It also consists of Reports that are due at the beginning of the lab period. The reports are intended to be a complete documentation of the work done in preparation for and during the lab. The report should be complete so that someone else familiar with digital design could use it to verify your work.
- Lab maintained with LCD projector: it consists of LCD projector with audio system required to explain programs, experiments need to be performed by students. Projector helps in writing programs in proper way. It also required for explaining slides on programs.
- Laboratory consist display charts: the lab is equipped with display charts which gives information regarding the lab time-table, faculty details and lab curriculum , lab related charts for the academic year. The display charts also includes some famous scientists and their work in the field of science.
