This Laboratory enables IV year I Semester ECE students to perform the various experiments in the area of Microwave Engineering and Optical Communication. The Microwave and Optical communications Lab concentrates on providing hands on experience on the basic concepts of Microwave and Optical communications. Numerous microwave devices are practically studied for calculation of VSWR, S – Parameter, frequency etc. The way the optical fiber can be used for communication is studied along with estimation of losses occurring thereby.
Ambience:
- Lab is designed with good acoustic and lighting: laboratory is designed with very good acoustic, air-circulation, fans, Fluorescent lighting in this lab, which gives bright and clear circumstances. While making the electrical connections and handling with high power equipments, Electrical safety measures have been provided. Instruments which are used are provided with proper insulation and with guidance.
- Laboratory displayed with Experiment list: Lab consists of charts which give information regarding experiments for the academic year going to be performed by the students.
- Laboratory displayed with major equipment details: In this laboratory mainly we used Microwave Test Benches, Consists of Klystron Power Supply, Klystron Mount, Isolator Attenuator, Variable Frequency Meter, Slotted Section, Detector Mount, SWR Meter and CRO’s. Required to perform experiments and lab consists of charts of major equipments which give information regarding working principle of these components.
- Safety guidelines chart is displayed in the lab: The Lab consists of a chart which gives information regarding safety precautions need to be followed by the students when they are performing experiments.
- Laboratory is well furnished: In this laboratory students will work by forming groups (Batches). However, the lab reports will be written individually. Proper stools, benches, and rack for keeping bags and maintained in good manner.
- Laboratory consist display charts: The lab is equipped with display charts which gives information regarding the lab time-table, faculty details and lab curriculum for the academic year. The display charts also includes some famous scientists and their work in the field of science.
