MICROPROCESSORS & MICROCONTROLLERS LAB

The Microprocessors and Microcontrollers Laboratory helps the students to understand the basic operation of Microprocessors and Microcontrollers along with fundamental programming skills in assembly language and Embedded C programming. This Laboratory creates the foundation for designing, analyzing and implementing engineering and programming problems.

This course includes:

1. To familiarize with the assembly level programming.

2. To gain knowledge in microprocessor architecture, programming and its various applications.

3. Design circuits for various applications using microcontrollers.

4. An in-depth knowledge of applying the concepts on real- time applications.

As a part of III B.Tech I semester curriculum, this laboratory has been setup to conduct practical work for writing and performing programs of experiments using MASM (Microsoft Macro Assembler) and KEIL software. This lab is also available to perform practical hardware experiments using 8086 and 8051 interfacing kits, it will be useful to students for doing projects in real time application way.

This lab provides all the basic requirements and imparts for the necessary practical training to the students. Microprocessor and microcontroller lab is mainly used with EC505PC course.

Major facilities/Equipments available are:

  • 8086 kit
  • 8051 kit
  • Interfacing 7 segment display to 8051 kit
  • Interfacing Matrix keypad to 8051 kit
  • 8 bit ADC interface 8051 kit
  • DAC interface to 8051 kit

  1. Lab is designed with good acoustic and lighting: Laboratory is designed with very good acoustic, air-circulation, fans, AC, Fluorescent lighting in this lab, which gives bright and clear circumstances. While making the electrical connections and handling with high power equipments, Electrical safety measures have been provided. Instruments which are used are provided with proper insulation and with guidance.
  2. Laboratory displayed with Experiment list: Lab consists of charts which give information regarding experiments for the academic year going to be performed by the students.
  3. Laboratory displayed with major equipment details: In this laboratory mainly we are using software’s MASM and KEIL, Personal Computers and Interfacing kits, these are required to perform experiments and lab consists of charts of major equipments which give information regarding working principle of these components.
  4. Laboratory is well furnished: In this laboratory students will work individually. However, the lab reports will be written individually. Proper chairs, benches, and rack for keeping bags and maintained in good manner. It also consists of reports that are intended to be a complete documentation of the work done in preparation for and during the lab.
  5. Lab maintained with LCD projector: Lab consists of LCD projector with audio system required to explain programs, experiments need to be performed by students. Projector helps in writing programs in proper way. It also required for explaining slides on programs.
  6. Laboratory consist display charts: The lab is equipped with display charts which gives information regarding the lab time-table, faculty details and lab curriculum for the academic year. The display charts also includes architecture and design of Microprocessor and Microcontroller.
