IC Applications Lab

As a part of II B.Tech – II Semester curriculum, this Laboratory is conducted for the students of Electronics and Communication Engineering to provide the basic knowledge on Analog Integrated Circuits. The term IC means Integrated circuit where all the active and passive components are fabricated on the same chip. IC technology has many advantages like small size, Low cost, Less weight, High speed etc. Various Technologies are used to fabricate the IC’s.

In this lab, the first cycle deals with first six experiments where as second Cycle deals next six experiments. In most of the experiments are deals with µA741 Operational Amplifier. First four Experiments will cover both open and closed loop applications of IC µA741. Timer applications will be covered with the help of IC 555.Different IC Circuits like IC 565, IC 723 Voltage Regulator also performed. Different Analog IC’s are introduced by which the student can become familiar with designing of Analog circuits in practical way.

Ambience:

  1. Lab is designed with good acoustic and lighting: Laboratory is designed with very good acoustic, air-circulation, fans, Fluorescent lighting in this lab, which gives bright and clear circumstances. While making the electrical connections and handling with high power equipments, Electrical safety measures have been provided. Instruments which are used are provided with proper insulation and with guidance.
  2. Laboratory displayed with Experiment list: Lab consists of charts which give information regarding experiments for the academic year going to be performed by the students.
  3. Laboratory displayed with major equipment details: In this laboratory the major equipments are CRO, RPS, and Function Generator. The lab consists of charts of major equipments which give information regarding working principle of these components.
  4. Safety guidelines chart is displayed in the lab: Lab consists of a chart which gives information regarding safety precautions need to be followed by the students when they are performing experiments.
  5. Laboratory is well furnished: In this laboratory students will work individually. However, the lab reports will be written individually. Proper stools, benches, and rack for keeping bags and maintained in good manner. It also consists of Reports that are due at the beginning of the lab period. The reports are intended to be a complete documentation of the work done in preparation for and during the lab. The report should be complete so that someone else familiar with digital design could use it to verify your work.
  6. Laboratory consist display charts: the lab is equipped with display charts which gives information regarding the lab time-table, faculty details and lab curriculum for the academic year. The display charts also includes some famous scientists and their work in the field of science.
