Minutes of the Meeting

The meeting was chaired by the Principal Dr. A. S. Reddy started at 3.00 P.M and the following points were discussed:

1. Discussed to develop the soft skills and literary skills in writing, reading & thinking amongst the students through various literary activities
2. There is a need to provide a platform to the students where they can unleash their creativity keeping aside those hefty books once a while and unwinding through beneficial and fun filled activities.
3. A magazine can be launched to forward from amongst the students amateur writers and all those who find pleasure and bliss in words and thereby helps to initiate a multidimensional thinking process.
4. A . Srinivasula Reddy , Principal will be the Chair person , Ms. B. Bindu Madhavi

(H&S) and Mr. S. Rangaraju (H&S) will act as coordinators for this committee. The meeting adjourned at 4:00PM.

The meeting was chaired by the Principal Dr. A. S. Reddy to review the progress of formation of the Literary Club and Literary Magazine.

1. The name of the Literary Club and logo were finalized as CREst (CMREC’s Realm of English for Smart Technocrats)
2. The name of Literary magazine is finalized as SAHITYA

(CMREC’S REALM OF ENGLISH FOR SMART TECHNOCRATS)

 We have CREST as the literary club of our college. It is formed with the objective to enrich and develop the soft skills and literary skills in writing, reading & thinking amongst the students through various literary activities. It aims at providing a platform to the students where they can unleash their creativity keeping aside those hefty books once a while and unwinding through beneficial and fun filled activities. It brings forward from amongst the students amateur writers, keen debaters and all those who find pleasure and bliss in words and thereby helps to initiate a multidimensional thinking process.

CREST is introduced by CMREC gives ample importance to the extra-curricular activities for nurturing the personality of the students. The Literary Club is one of the many clubs initiated by the college as a part of this agenda. The Literary Club in CMREC functions to attain these objectives:

OBJECTIVES

• To develop different perspectives of appreciation for literature in the students
• To encourage the students’ skills for creative writing and expression
• To introduce them to the literatures of various languages
• To enhance their thought and speech through group discussions and interactive sessions

CREST gives its members a suitable platform to hone their literary talents with productive suggestions, healthy criticism and heartfelt appreciation. It introduced them to the wider horizons of literature in English language. The Club gave them a sense of belonging in a group where their individuality and talents were respected and instilled in them a sense of confidence to speak out. Thus, Literary Club triggered conducive thoughts in its members, encouraged them to give it expression and inspired them to the course of progressive action. The Club Magazine SAHITYA was the epitome of the inspiration of the students gained for their creative talent from the Club.

• Abhivyakti: Extempore
• ‘Brain Of CMREC’: A quiz to test the literary technical, geographical, social and current affairs knowledge of the contestants.
• Bone of contention: An argument in which the contestants had to present themselves for or against the current yet controversial topics.
• Break Your Nerves: Creating funny full form of the words given and spotting the well known words and phrases portrayed in the pictures.
• Kaleidoscope: Cooking up an interesting story based on the hints provided
• The Ultimate Survivor: JAM
• Samiksha : A group discussion
• Word search games: word puzzles
• Creative writing: Putting oneself into others shoes and narrating accordingly
• Poster Making
• Collage

Minutes of Meeting

The meeting of was held on 3^rd November, 2014 at 3:10 PM chaired by the Principal, Dr. A. S. Reddy at principal’s chamber. The members of the committee gathered to discuss the following points.

1. Date was finalized to inaugurate CREST, Literary Club and SAHITYA, Literary Magazine. It would be on 10^th November, 2014
2. Finalized the chief guest as Paidipala, a renowned writer for inauguration of literary club.
3. Discussed the necessary arrangement to be made for

CIRCULAR

  It is hereby informed to the students of B-tech I year that Literary Club of CMREC and Literary Magazine SAHITYA are going to be inaugurated by Dr.Paidipala, a renowned author on 10/11/2014 by 10.00 am in the Auditorium , Block I. The following literary events will be conducted on this occasion. Interested students can participate in the competitions by giving their names to CRs of their classes by 05/11/2014. CRs have to collect the names event wise and submit to the concerned coordinator. Students can send their literary articles(fiction or non- fiction to the magazine SAHITYA to sahitya.cmrec@gmail.com.

The chief guest, Dr.Paidipala– a renowned author inauguratedEnglish Literary Club- CMREC’S REALM OF ENGLISH FOR SMART TECHNOCRATS (CREST) and

launchedEnglish Literary Magazine – Sahithya. Before this announcement of First National Conference on Developments, Advances & Trends in Engineering Sciences took place by Chairman of the college- Bhopal Reddy chief guest, Dr.AS Reddy-principal on 10^th November. On this occasion Dr.AS Reddy-principal of the college congratulated the English department for their efforts and advised them to run English club parallel to campus recruitment classes and keep it active by conducting language activities ensuring more participation from the students. Dr. Reddy also clued-up students to grab the opportunities come to them to develop their communication skills and suggested them to take part in the activities of the club to enhance their English communication to speak confidently as their future career is closely connected with the effective English communication. While chief guest -Dr.Paidipala in his interaction with the students said that students are influenced by films, television more, instead of spending time on such activities they should find time to involve in extracurricular activities to sharpen their social skills, communication skills and contribute their write ups like, poems, short stories , essays etc, to their college English magazine. He also expressed that while learning English, students should not neglect speaking their mother tongue accurately as Telugu language has been source for many English words and English language is intermingled with Telugu vocabulary.The Chairman of the college, Bhopal Reddy, all the HODs, staff and students of the college attended the programme. The chief guest gave away the certificates to the winners of various activities held on this occasion
