STUDENTS SEMINAR FORMATS:

Seminar Guidelines:

 1. In charge need to form 20 batches with in the class with maximum of 3 students in each batch.

 2. In charge need to collect the seminar topic from each batch, assign schedule date for the seminar and the same should be submitted to seminar coordinate on or before the scheduled date.

 3. If seminar is not conducted on the schedule date, it should be brought to the notice of seminar coordinator with rescheduled date.

 4. In charge should make sure that all arrangement is made at the seminar hall for the seminar presentation.

5. After seminar presentations, in charge has to submit the Evaluation sheet to the seminar coordinator in the prescribed format on the same day or next day of seminar.

6. In case of getting absent on the day of seminar, in charge should make necessary alternate arrangement for conducting seminar.

7. The seminar presentations which are graded as poor or very poor by the related subject expert should be rescheduled and the same should be submitted to seminar coordinator.

8. Seminar in charges are requested to collect hard copy of the seminar abstract a day before the seminar presentation from the student/batch.

Allotment of The Topic:

Should be related to subject, and may be of interdisciplinary nature viz. topics from Electrical, Computer Science, Electronic Instrumentation, Bio-Medical Engineering, etc.

 Instructions to class wise Seminar in charge:

 Preparation of Seminar PowerPoint Presentation and Report:

ØTitle Slide with Name, Roll No., Batch No., etc.

 Ã˜ Introduction

Ø Contents should be neat and clear with proper diagrams & pictures wherever necessary.

 Ã˜Video clips / Flash animations may be used.

 Ã˜Applications, Advantages, Disadvantages, Comparisons, etc.

 Ã˜Conclusion & References

The PowerPoint Presentation should contain at least the following slides :

ØIn your slide presentation use good amounts of block diagrams, drawings, and photographs if appropriate.

ØUse large font sizes and keep your text brief.

ØUse graphs and plots in place of equations wherever possible. People get more out of looking at a plot of an equation rather than the symbols during a fast-paced oral presentation.

Presentation of The Seminar:

a. Group students are normally allowed to present particular seminar class. The allotted time for a student would be span of 25 minutes, which can be utilized as follows:

 I.15 minutes for actual presentation

 Ii.10 minutes for discussion

 b. The first 10 minutes of every Seminar Class will be used for setting up the Slides and Audio System and arranging the Seminar Hall.

 c. It will be the responsibility of the Seminar batch for that day to make sure all arrangements are made at the Seminar Hall in time.

d. During presentation student is not expected to read and refer any written content continuously but use only for reference.

 Discussion and Participation:

 1. At the end of the presentation of each paper discussion will be held between the audience and the speaker for a period of 10 minutes. Music is a great communication and language can never be a barrier.-A P J Abdul Kalam

2. Only Healthy and useful discussions are expected and will alone be entertained. Students may ask questions and speaker can respond to these questions.

 3. Also, staff member will pick up names of 5 or 6 students at random who will have to ask questions on the topic.

 4. Sometimes they will also be asked to either comment on the topic or give an abstract of the same.

5. Credit for the participation will be awarded to the students accordingly
