PROGRAMME REPORT

Hybrid Electric Vehicles Club (HEV-Club):

Student clubs are so vital because they are the ultimate in experiential learning for young minds, giving them the leadership and power to make their own decisions and watch how those decisions affect their life and the lives of others. It is very proud moment that, All India Council for Technical Education, Govt. of India, has sanctioned Rs. 1,00,000/- to support this student club under the “Scheme for Promoting Interests, Creativity and Ethics among Students (SPICES)”.

The main aim of this club is Industry institute interaction to benefit the students. Under this HEV- club, students are attending field visits, participating in industrial exhibitions, various competitions at International, national and state-levels to show cause their skills and learning experience.

 Vision of the Club:

The Hybrid Electric Vehicles Club (HEV-Club) is a group of students with a passion for electric and hybrid electric vehicles and related technology. This student club members come from many backgrounds and range from mechanical, electrical, and computer science engineering. We focus on researching renewable transportation technologies and conduct many hands-on projects that offer students hands-on experience in designing, building, and testing real-world systems.

The club was inaugurated by the principal of the institution Dr. A. Srinivasula Reddy in the presence of the guest of honor reverend Secretary and Correspondent of the institute Sri. Ch. Srisailam Reddy. Dr. C. Syamsundar and Dr. Suman Mishra, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and ECE has graced the inaugural function. They gave the insights to the club and followed by the keynote talks and stressed the importance of EV clubs in the present scenario.

Expected outcomes and benefits to students/institute:

  • Students are well trained with the latest Automobile technologies.
  • Hybrid Electric Vehicles Club training starts for our students from the 2nd year, and will continue up to the final year.
  • Students participating in various State level/ National level competition, and showcasing their skills, resulting in their overall development. Many students received awards, rewards, and recognition for their showcases.
  • Strong foundation in basic mechanical engineering like welding, CAD/CAM, Additive Manufacturing Technology, Non-conventional energy, development of alternative fuels, latest machining process, latest modelling & simulation software.
  • Students will get well exposure to design and analysis tools, which enhance their design and development skills, which helps them come out with world-class vehicle design and shapes.
  • Students will get overall development, self-confidence, and learn the leadership quality, which helps them lead the project.
  • Students are exposed to hands-on experience in design, manufacturing, testing & assembly.

This session was very much interactive and I have no doubt that all the participants would have immensely benefited from this online program. Last but not the least our deep sense of gratitude and appreciation goes to AICTE India for their financial support and encouragement for conducting this programme, which has served as a catalyst for conducting the program effectively.
