Session On Machine Learning Using Python & IBM Watson By CSE

Aim & Objective:

This FDP covers technologies required to build classic (traditional), basic application using Machine Learning. These technologies include compute, networking and building the various application virtualization using Machine Learning with python. Additional areas of focus include, Introduction to python, Introduction to Machine Learning models and communication API’s, web Server for IOT and security management related concepts.

Description

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has conducted the Faculty Development Program on Machine Learning Using Python & IBM Watson from 09th to 13th December 2019. This Program was conducted by the SmartBridge Educational Pvt Ltd, in CMREC for five days. The total number of faculty participated was 48. The trainer for the Session was Ms. G.RAMYA, Machine Learning Engineer, with 4+ years of experience in training field of IT Industry.

The programme is divided into ten sessions including inaugural session. In the inaugural session Principal Dr. A. Srinivasula Reddy, HOD CSE Dr. Sheo Kumar, HOD IT Prof.P.Madhavi, HOD ECE Dr. Suman Mishra and HOD MECH Dr. K.S. Reddy. have shared the dais along with the resource person. The inaugural session has started with lightening of the lamp by the persons on the dais. The Principal Dr. A Srinivasula Reddy, Ms. G RAMYA, Machine Learning Engineer addressed the gathering. The inauguration ceremony has concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Sheo Kumar HOD CSE.

In the main FDP, Ms. G RAMYA has addressed about the FDP course, advantage and usefulness of the FDP of Machine Learning using Python & IBM Watson to the faculty.

Day 1: Topics Discussed

  • Introduction to Introduction to Machine Learning–Definition and Characteristics of ML
  • Python Basics, Python Data Structures, Python Programming Fundamentals.
  • Python – Exceptions Handling.
  • Python – Object Oriented Overview of OOP Terminology Creating Classes Creating Instance Objects.

Day 2: Topics Discussed

  •  Working with Data in Python- Reading files with open Writing files with open Loading data with Pandas Working with and Saving data with Pandas.
  • Introduction to Visualization Tools.
  •  Data Preprocessing- Importing the Dataset Handle Missing Data Categorical Data Splitting the Dataset into the Training set and Test set.

Day 3: Topics Discussed

  • Introduction to Python:
  • Language features of Python
  • Date/time operations
  • Classes
  • Exception handling.
  • Python packages – JSON, XML, HTTP Lib, URL Lib, SMTP Lib.
  • Getting Started with Machine Learning.
  • Supervised Learning – Regression.

Day 4: Topics Discussed

  •  Supervised Learning – Classification
  • Introduction to Classification Problems Logistic.
  •  Regression Decision Tree
  •  Support Vector Machine
  •  K-Nearest Neighboring
  •  Naive -Bayes
  • Random Forest.

Day 5: Topics Discussed

  • Getting started with IBM Watson Studio.
  • Building models Deploying the model & integration to Apps.
  • Discussion.
  • Valedictory Function.

Faculty registered for the FDP enriched with the knowledge on Machine Learning using Python by installation, various Python related basic application, cloud based storage-IBM Watson, RESTful web API, Python program with Raspberry PI with focus of interfacing external gadgets application, reading input from pins also explained about Python packages – JSON, XML, HTTP Lib, URL Lib, IBM Watson tool concepts with detailed practice sessions and motivated to apply the knowledge in their research work and their student projects.

Valedictory function followed by certificate distribution to the entire registered faculty by principal sir, CSE HOD and trainer. The Faculty Development Program has ended with Felicitation and presenting memento to the resource person.
