ECAD LAB

As a part of III B.Tech II semester curriculum, this laboratory has been setup to conduct practical work for simulation of experiments using Cadence and Xilinx tool software. Apply the concepts of basic combinational logic circuits, sequential circuit elements, and programmable logic in the laboratory setting. This lab develops familiarity and confidence with designing, building and testing digital circuits, including the use of CAD tools. This lab evolves with Behavioral, register- transfer, logic, and physical-level structured VLSI design using CAD tools and hardware description languages.

ECAD laboratory will provide a practical knowledge for the implementation of analog and digital VLSI circuits. This lab enhances the knowledge of verilog coding and test bench for all logic gates, flip-flops, counters and adders etc.  It deals with compilation, simulation and synthesizes the verilog code. From this lab the students will be able to draw the schematic diagram and layout for the inverter and amplifiers and verify their functionality. It creates models of moderately sized CMOS circuits that realize specified digital functions and also import the logic modules into FPGA Boards after Synthesize, Place and Route the digital IPs.

Ambience:

  1. Lab is designed with good acoustic and lighting: laboratory is designed with very good acoustic, air-circulation, fans, AC, Fluorescent lighting in this lab, which gives bright and clear circumstances. While making the electrical connections and handling with high power equipments, Electrical safety measures have been provided. Instruments which are used are provided with proper insulation and with guidance.
  2. Laboratory displayed with Experiment list: Lab consists of charts which give information regarding experiments for the academic year going to be performed by the students.
  3. Laboratory displayed with major equipment details: In this laboratory mainly we used software Xilinx, Cadence and Linux to perform experiments and lab consists of charts of major equipments which give information regarding working principle of these components.
  4. Safety guidelines chart is displayed in the lab:  Lab consists of a chart which gives information regarding safety precautions need to be followed by the students when they are performing experiments.
  5. Laboratory is well furnished: In this laboratory students will work individually. However, the lab reports will be written individually. Proper chairs and rack for keeping bags are maintained in good manner. It also consists of lab manuals that helps to understand what needs to be done while in a laboratory.
  6. Lab maintained with LCD projector: This Lab consists of LCD projector required to explain programs need to be performed by students. Projectors will help students to take notes, be more engaged.
  7. Laboratory consist display charts: The lab is equipped with display charts which gives information regarding the lab time-table, faculty details and lab curriculum for the academic year. The display charts also includes some famous scientists and their work in the field of science.
