INTERNSHIPS
Develop, implement and manage a variety of job placement and work-based learning activities for students, including assessment for job readiness, career exploration, navigation, coaching and/or counseling, and job preparation skills training. They will provide students with their contact information for field placement, to act as a liaison between the student, college and the facility for field placement. conduct research to learn the skills, abilities, and credentials employers seek for graduates of the school’s departments and majors.
A QUALITY INTERNSHIP SHOULD BE:
- Consists of a part-time or full-time work schedule that includes no more than 25% clerical or administrative duties.
- Provides a clear job/project description for the work experience.
- Orients the student to the organization, its culture and proposed work assignment(s).
- Helps the student develop and achieve learning goals.
- Offers regular feedback to the student intern.
